Drumming Into The Strength Of Masculine Vulnerability | David Visiko

Gather among men for this work[play]shop to experience the healing power and celebration of drumming West African Djembe rhythms with Fe Fanyi West African Drum Troupe’s Artistic Director David Visiko.  Uncover the strength of masculine vulnerability as David brings together drum circle, authentic connection, and socio-emotional tools to use in day to day life.  A father and world traveller, David combines his longstanding love and respect for djembe rhythms, a background in suicide and sexual assault prevention, and his Masters Degree in Mental Health in this powerful work[play]shop.  David is an inspired teacher who brings groundedness and compassion to manhood and his work.

Masculinity and its Connection to the Feminine Spirit + Qigong | Mark Montgomery

Define “masculinity” and “femininity” to understand the roles they play in life, relationships, within ourselves, and the movement into wholeness.  Strengthening the mind-body connection and understanding, Mark will combine the discussion with a session in the ancient practice of Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”).  Qigong translates from Chinese to mean “life force cultivation.”  It consists of gentle movements, breathing techniques, and mental concentration.  Practicing Qigong brings masculinity and femininity into balance to circulate, strengthen, and cleanse the life force within oneself for greater vitality.  A long time Qigong practitioner and teacher, Mark has studied with Qigong masters in the U.S. and China since 1979.  He regularly teaches both Men’s and Women’s groups about energetic literacy – including the power of masculine and feminine energies, and is the co-founder of Bend Community Healing.

Paint Your Inner Totem | Ethan Anderson

Join Ethan Anderson in an exercise that moves you closer to your inner mentor – and away from your inner critic – to show up more authentically and on purpose in life.  You will use everyday materials combined with thought provoking exercises to “paint your inner totem” through a personal intention setting process.  As someone always looking to reach personally higher, a father to a young son, and a Life Success Coach, Ethan’s work brings support and attention to the evolving needs of everyday great men.
